A former radio DJ has “Bad Blood” with the one and only Taylor Swift, alleging that claims he “grabbed her bottom” eventuated in him getting fired.

CNN reports that in June 2013 Colarado’s David Mueller attended a Swift meet-and-greet at her concert backstage with girlfriend and co-worker Shannon Melcher, which is when and where representatives for Swift say the alleged incident took place.

Mueller was there on official work business for radio station KYGO. The couple had their picture taken with Swift, as you do at a meet-and-greet, but the pop star claims Mueller lifted her “skirt with his hands and grabbed her bottom.”  Mueller has denied any such incident took place.

Taylor’s security team removed Mueller and Melcher from the concert grounds following the claims, and, after a series of phone calls between the singer’s management and the radio station, Mueller was fired, the lawsuit alleged.

“The radio station was given evidence immediately after the incident. They made their independent decision,” Swift’s spokeswoman, Tree Paine, told CNN. The request for more specific information about the evidence was not responded to.

The lawsuit claims that the photo was “damning”, according to Swift’s management, saying in “the photograph, Ms. Swift is smiling and hugging Ms. Melcher. Although Mr. Mueller’s hand is behind Ms. Swift and therefore not visible, it is clear that her skirt is in place and is not being lifted by Mr. Mueller’s hand.”

It continued, “Similarly, Ms. Swift’s hand is behind Mr. Mueller and therefore not visible.” David maintains that he conducted no such inappropriate behaviour.

“The contention that Mr. Mueller lifted up Ms. Swift’s skirt and grabbed her bottom, while standing with his girlfriend, in front of Ms. Swift’s photographer and Ms. Swift’s highly trained security personnel, during a company sponsored, VIP, backstage meet-and-greet, is nonsense, particularly given that Ms. Swift’s skirt is in place and is not being lifted by Mr. Mueller’s hand in the photograph,” the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit is seeking to recuperate Mueller’s lost income, which was $150,000 a year at the time he was fired. His radio career also spanned a decent 20 years, according to court documents.
