It seems that fashion designers love their bikes.
First there was Donna Karan, who had orange DKNY bikes placed all around town to tout the virtues of biking around Manhattan. Then there was Cynthia Rowley, who for her Spring/Summer 2008 collection runway show sent out models riding bicycles in heels. And then, just a few weeks ago, it was announced that Rowley had teamed-up with Bicycle For A Day to present a healthier, more environmentally friendly way to mosey around town. The eco-minded designer stamped her signature city-girl-meets the outdoors look to limited edition vintage style bicycles.
Now, from June 20th through June 27th New York City’s Soho Topshop will be loaning out bikes for free to encourage staying healthy (and of course, in true Topshop style, having fun). The retailer will also be lending out helmets.
The rentals start at noon daily and all rentals are free.
