Back in March, Uniqlo named J.W.Anderson and Loewe designer Jonathan Anderson its newest collaborator. (He of the wildly popular Pierce bag.) Anderson, who hails from Northern Ireland, promised a line inspired by the British-heritage motifs ever-present in his work.

Today, the line made its Vogue debut and, true to the designer’s word, the collection is filled with Fair Isle and fisherman sweaters, rugby and Savile Row stripes and tartan-accented duffle and trenchcoats, all perfect for fall/foggy London weather. The pieces are quirky yet practical, un-boring yet office-friendly. This being Jonathan Anderson, there are also lots of ruffles, which we are totally here for.

“Uniqlo is something I wear daily, so it was personal to me and I became very excited,” Anderson, a fan of the Japanese retailer’s cashmere knits, told Vogue. “For me, the point of doing this collaboration was that I believe in democracy in fashion, and what I hope will be achieved is that any age demographic can pick up and find something within the collection to relate to. Doing something with Uniqlo is very interesting. It’s a different exercise than with J.W.Anderson, because we have a wholesale network whereas Uniqlo is a retail network. It means you come up with a wardrobe which is universal and quirky.”

Each season, Anderson taunts us with a few aspirational buys we’re more than willing to save up for. Thankfully, this “democratic” 33-piece range caps out at $150, with shirts and the like priced closer to $30. We’re drooling over the quilted bags, pinstripe pants and colorful button-downs (the line includes clothing for both men and women, but ignore the designations and buy what you like — oversized is in, and Anderson is a known advocate of gender-fluid fashion).

Check out the full J.W.Anderson x Uniqlo collection in the gallery below, and mark your calendars for the evening of September 21, when it hits Uniqlo.com. (It’ll be available to shop at select international Uniqlo locations the following morning.)
