MARC JACOBS’ BAD FIT

Generally the magic words "size issue" are accompanied by dark thoughts and barely subdued mutterings and imprecations about the designer who (clearly) mis-marked his designs so as to make the consumer feel rotten about themselves by having to take a garment marked a size or two larger than they normally wear into the changing room…

Or the retailer who panders to the public with vanity sizing, and causes the opposite angst as the poor consumer can’t figure out how low they could (or should) go as they rattle through the hangers. Or even the problem of ‘Goldilocks dresses’ (too long for shorter girls, yet obscenely brief on their taller brethren, these are the dresses which are rarely “just right” in length)..

Now, what you don’t expect me to be talking about with regards to the latest size issues is a laptop sleeve. And yet, here we are…

Marc Jacobs’ “Into The Wild” laptop sleeve is both leopard printed and of a lust-inducing gorgeousness not normally associated with technological impedimenta.  Sadly, it’s also available in the ubiquitous “one size only”; with the size in question being 14 inches.  Too large for my hopefully soon-to-be-retired PowerBook, and too small for the MacBook Pro of my dreams.  So now I’m afflicted with nerdy size issues when it comes to my computer, and I don’t like it.
