Bill Blass designer Peter Som, who was widely reported to have stepped down from his post after the brand’s cash-strapped parent company, NexCen, canceled the fashion house’s September runway show in Bryant Park, is now by all accounts back-on-board.
Som allegedly was dismayed at NexCen inability to financially support the line in the way the designer felt that the Bill Blass collection deserved. Further much of his staff, reportedly, hasn’t been paid in months.
At least for now however, with a push from US Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Peter Som will remain with Bill Blass, agreeing to possibly show the spring collection in the Bill Blass showroom.
