Who knew that Roberto Cavalli’s first love was architecture? Cavalli tells WWD that his company’s rapid expansion has allowed him to focus on building and interior design, adding that furniture pieces exclusive to his boutiques will be displayed and for sale.
Cavalli will also open a Cavalli Club in Dubai and turn his existing restaurant in Milan into a club, with two more clubs slated for Miami and London. I can already picture the ornate chandeliers, animal print, and gold skulls!
As if that wasn’t enough, Cavalli, who already has a vodka launch under his belt (an opaque bottle that features a snake curling around its contour), will launch Cavalli Selection, the first wine from Casa Cavalli.
Cavalli said that he loves to get people drunk because, “It’s nice to make people crazy. Sometimes they are very civilized–too civilized!” Adding that, “my wine is like my fashion: very sexy.”
The wines, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Alicante Bouchet blends, were made from grapes grown at the Cavalli family estate, Tenuta degli Dei, in the Chianti region of Tuscany.
True to the Cavalli signature style, the bottles will come complete with leopard prints and an RC logo.
For those who can’t get enough of him, Cavalli says that he loved being a Project Runway guest judge and that he’s in talks to have a show of his own.
