Zayn Malik — musician, heartthrob and Donatella Versace collaborator — just became the seventh man to ever front American Vogue. Sadly, he was not present when his partner Gigi (with whom he shares the mag’s August cover) let Vogue into the Gramercy IMG offices for a new edition of its video series “73 Questions.” That said, Gigi’s bubbly personality and quick wit more than compensate for her beau’s absence. (Gigi’s niceness stems, in part, from a piece of advice she picked up from her mom: “If you’re not the nicest, most hardworking girl in the industry, there’s going to be someone prettier, nicer, and more hardworking.”)
If you care about Gigi (and Zigi) minutiae as much as we do, you’re going to love this interview. In it, she reveals her fashion role models (a certain Barbadian megastar and two always-well-swathed twins), her girl crush (one you and she likely have in common) and the number of Kobe Bryant jersey’s she’s got tucked away in storage (hint: it’s a lot). In between showing off her volleyball skills and wittily plugging her Vogue eyewear collab, Gigi also spills some juicy Zayn-related tidbits. Namely, their most romantic date ever (no, it wasn’t the time Taylor Swift third-wheeled) and which of Zayn’s baked-with-love pies she prefers (oh, to see that man at work in the kitchen). And speaking of T. Swift, Gigi also blesses us with a list of what she considers to be her bestie’s greatest hits.
