Kate Moss Is Back in Saint Laurent’s 80s-Fabulous Fall 2018 Campaign

Certain famous faces are synonymous with major fashion houses and there isn’t anyone more identifiable with Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent than Kate Moss (OK, maybe Anja Rubik). The Brit OG supermodel returned last season as the face of the iconic French fashion house after an eight-year hiatus and is back once again for Fall 2018. Taking things out of the studio this time and transporting us to an idyllic beach in some unknown tropical location, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin captured Kate posing on the sand wearing a low cut, floral and fabulously 80s Vaccarello creation, styled by Alastair McKimm.

The image was quick to generate buzz amongst our forum members. “This is the future of Kate Moss campaigns! Loads of effects and zoom out as far as possible to avoid her face. If you must go for a close-up, Photoshop it to hell and back. I think the image is very fresh and interesting, at least a bit of a break from endless black and white campaigns which we’ve seen for years now!” shared Benn98.

“I agree,” Les_Sucettes replied. “I think Kate Moss is a real icon (a word I hate and rarely use but it’s appropriate for her) and she used to be my favorite, but she can’t model at all on the same terms she used to. I think it cheapens her image all this theatrics to hide the fact that she’s not young anymore.”

“If you go and take a look at this first shot really quickly you would have mistaken Kate for Anna Ewers,” pointed out badgalcrush.

Mathiasktaz wasn’t here for Kate x Saint Laurent. “I love Kate but I think other models could’ve done this much better,” he voiced.

“After looking at it many times, I must admit that I love it. I may not be a fan of Kate as much as I was before, but she is really in control and she is really selling that effortless sensuality that I think is missing from Saint Laurent campaigns,” confessed Lola701.

“This screams Vogue Paris, and I’m a sucker for these kinds of beach editorials especially the ones by I&V,” admired MON.

“Gorgeous, absolutely love this, takes me back to I&V’s Vogue Paris editorial with Sasha Pivovarova from the March 2008 issue (also the one with Kate from W Magazine‘s February 2006 issue). I am loving the stark contrast between the natural beach setting and the heavy, glitzy minidress here,” vogue28 said.
