Vogue Paris gave us everything we desired with its last issue, serving up Iselin Steiro on location in the French Riviera. Now the magazine seems to have created yet another smash hit with its latest cover. Shunning the usual roster of revolving cover girls, the magazine tapped newcomer Luna Bijl for August 2016. Photographed by David Sims, Emmanuelle Alt selected a statement bubblegum pink Gucci fur coat for Luna’s breakout cover and our forum members championed French Vogue for its refreshing, bold and brave choice of cover model.
“Gosh, I LOVE it! Very Chris von Wangenheim. Might be my favorite cover under Alt’s tenure,” Creative declared.
Forum member guimon sure was a fan of the outcome, exclaiming, “I LOVE IT! It really feels like the good old Vogue Paris.”
In agreement over how terrific the cover turned out was Lola701, raving, “Are they also bringing the glamour back? I’m all for it! I love it. It’s indeed very Chris von Wangenheim, like a modern Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele approach of Wangenheim. Vogue Paris is on a roll.”
“It’s a really good cover, that vintage-look works quite fine, I do not know who the girl is but she was made to be on this cover, perfect,” Pradable commended.
“The magazine world is conspiring to make me happy again,” approved tigerrouge.
Luxx shared the same sentiments, writing, “A star is born!! Love seeing someone new and fresh on the cover.”
“Good for Vogue Paris for putting someone new on the cover. No idea who she is and I’m not much for 80s styling but I admit I’m intrigued. Looking forward to the editorial content!” expressed Velasco.
