Christian Dior is racking up quite the celebrity following these days. Jennifer Lawrence fronts the French fashion house’s accessories ads on a regular basis, Rihanna is set to star in its ‘Secret Garden’ campaign and Marion Cotillard‘s latest for the ‘Lady Dior’ collection was unveiled over the weekend. Photographed by Peter Lindbergh, Marion clutches a Pre-Fall 2015 rendition of the classic handbag, shot amongst a sea of solar panels, which complement the graphic design of the bag perfectly.
It should come as no surprise that our forum members were on the ball once the campaign surfaced. “WOW love the styling. I like that Sci-Fi feeling. This is going to be good!” admired Fotoholic24.
“This looks like it will be good. The setting is bound to give a more ‘alien’ vibe, but will wait for the rest to surface,” said Benn98.
Also eager to see more was Cosmic Voices, who replied, “Excited to see the following shots.”
“I wish it was in B&W and more Lindbergh’s usual style but I guess it wouldn’t work as a campaign as much as this does,” noted kokobombon.
Yet as expected, the campaign didn’t manage to impress everyone. “The outfit doesn’t suit Marion at all, it’s odd. Just like Raf’s designs for Dior most of the time,” posted Nymphaea.
GIVENCHYlover soon changed the mood entirely. “To be honest, I’d like more Photoshop on her face,” he sniggered.
“You’re asking to get piled on by the pc gang. I think her face looks fine. Luckily the focus will be more on the clothes and the bags,” Benn98 immediately fired back.
Stay tuned for the rest of the campaign and in the meantime, share your own opinion here.
