You wouldn’t think that an illustration of red onions and yellow daisies would work on a magazine cover, but Chanel Iman’s cover for L’Officiel’s February issue proves that that’s not the case. From Chanel’s mocha complexion to the cool aqua background, the consistent use of black and white text, and the incorporation of her Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 garment’s print in the cover design, the whole thing just works.
“What an adorable cover! Wonder who did the art?” MulletProof mused. “The onion illustrations are so unexpected and add such a lovely, street market type of fun to the styling. And Chanel looks beautiful,” she added.
“The illustrations really add a nice touch to it,” nightclubbing agreed. “She looks gorgeous.”
In the issue Chanel models summer styles inspired by Cape Town, South Africa, so expect lots of florals and bold, tropical, vibrant colors. Basically L'Officiel is giving us more of what we see on this great cover. I think this may be the best that Chanel has ever looked, so I’m excited for the editorial images to surface and prove me right.
